Geothermal: Canada’s Untapped Solution to Energy, Jobs and Climate Change?

Canada is the only country located on the Pacific "Ring of Fire" that doesn't use commercial-scale geothermal energy. Although Canada is home to vast geothermal potential and Canadian geothermal companies are running projects across the globe, Canada is behind on this renewable energy curve.

In this series DeSmog Canada will explore Canada's fledgling geothermal industry and its fight to bring this carbon-free, job-creating renewable energy to market.

To delve deep into the opportunity geothermal presents, we're going to learn from the best: Iceland. We're following key players from Canada as they travel to one of the world's savviest geothermal producers as part of the Canadian Geothermal Energy Association's delegation at an international geothermal conference in Reykjavik.
