Drew Brown is a writer from Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland. He spent four years in Edmonton pursuing a PhD in political science at the University of Alberta, but left academia to pursue freelancing full-time. His bylines include VICE, CBC, Newfoundland Quarterly and The Guardian. He was voted “Best Local Journalist” by readers of The Overcast in 2017.
