Human-induced environmental stressors are among the leading drivers of ecosystem change. My research has increased our understanding of how different taxa and ecosystems respond to environmental stressors, such as climate change, invasive species, and habitat alteration, along a gradient of spatial and temporal scales, in addition to developing quantitative frameworks to predict the effects of environmental stressors on wide-ranging ecosystems. I am currently researching the impacts of multiple stressors on lake ice phenology, water temperatures, water quality, primary production, and fish communities around the world. I use big data and machine learning to address novel research questions in global change biology.
