Colin Arisman

Colin Arisman is a visual storyteller focusing on conservation, backcountry recreation, wild foods and rural communities. He has a knack for giving form and shape to often overlooked subjects, while weaving complex threads into compelling stories. Colin’s academic background in natural resources, including a master’s degree in Sustainability Leadership from the University of Vermont, steers his lens in an investigative and impact-oriented direction. In addition to his work as a photojournalist, Colin is an award-winning documentary director whose films have been hailed by Outside Magazine, recognized with Vimeo’s coveted “Staff Pick” award, and screened internationally, including with the Banff Mountain Film World Tour. Colin is the creative director of Wild Confluence Media, a production company that has created short films for leading brands including REI, Patagonia, Columbia Sportswear, and Peak Design. Colin's love of the Pacific Coasts abundant waters, vast temperate rainforests, and glacier-capped peaks inspire him, and root his work in the U.S. Northwest, British Columbia, and Alaska.
