Mel Woods

Mel Woods is an award-winning Vancouver-based writer and editor. They are currently the senior editor, audience engagement at Xtra Magazine, where they lead the publication's social video strategy and provide commentary and analysis on LGBTQ2S+ news and culture. Prior to joining Xtra, they were an editor at HuffPost Canada covering trending topics and Alberta/B.C. Their work has appeared in The Walrus, The Globe and Mail, Slate, Vice and the CBC.
