Savannah Ridley
Savannah Ridley is an Onöndowa’ga:' journalist, editor and multimedia producer based in Tkaronto, Ontario. Her work for The Narwhal as their first Indigenous editorial fellow won the silver spot for the Canadian Association of Journalists Emerging Indigenous Journalist Award, and was a finalist for Emerging Excellence at the Digital Publication Awards. Savannah is also the first ever student to achieve a spot in the CJF-CBC Indigenous Journalism Fellowship in her second year of journalism school at Toronto Metropolitan University. In her previous position at the Toronto Star, Savannah reported on everything from the World Cup to investigating mining permits in Northern Ontario, all in a range of formats. She returns to The Narwhal as an assistant editor. When she’s not knee-deep in a story, she keeps her sanity on her yoga mat, at concert venues and wracking up points at trivia night.
