Torrance Coste

Torrance Coste is the Vancouver Island Campaigner for the Wilderness Committee, representing the organization with grassroots allies, Indigenous Nations, government, the media and the public. Torrance grew up constantly encouraged to be outside, to learn to be comfortable in the woods and the water, which has impacted him greatly. He enjoys hiking, camping, canoeing, and, on rainy days, the odd heated Twitter exchange. Torrance is keenly interested in incorporating social justice in his environment and climate activism and believes that system change is necessary to build a sustainable and equitable world. Torrance lives on unceded Malahat Territory with his partner Lisa and dog Roo.
