Joseph Minor received his PhD in biology from the California Institute of Technology in 1992. He became interested in the issue of PFAS contamination in 2011 when Environment Canada discovered PFAS contaminating the blood of turtles in the Welland River and PFAS were added as a contaminant to the Guide to Eating Ontario Fish. For the last 14 years, he has focused on keeping public attention on unresolved PFAS contamination, which continues to endanger ecosystems and community health.
