Mike Waddington is a Canada Research Chair in Ecohydrology at McMaster University with over 30 years of research experience on integrative water and ecosystem science for boreal wetland conservation, restoration and management. He is studying the ecohydrological processes that elucidate boreal wetland function and resilience to solve climate change and land-use change issues related to wildfire management, species at risk habitat, and wetland restoration. Dr. Waddington is the principal investigator of the Boreal Water Futures initiative examining the impacts of wildfire on boreal wetlands.
